Issues To Be Solved

This home was built before the open floor plan was made popular. The kitchen had a very small footprint which lacked good storage and was rather tight to have much help in the kitchen. The room felt dark and dated along with inadequate cabinet and pantry storage.

The appliances were bought at different times and the finishes did not match.

Also, the dining room felt cramped and more of a catch-all than a place to have memorable family meals.

Our designers went to work to come up with a plan to solve the issues.

3D Design Renderings

Our renderings that were approved are almost an exact replica of the finished project. We know that it is sometimes hard to picture what major changes will look like. When you see your 3D renderings you know what your room will look like.

Gorgous Kitchen Solutions

The storage issue was solved with the installation of double-stacked or sometimes called stacked, cabinet design. Frameless cabinets were chosen for maximum cabinet access. Corbel accents were custom made by a local carpenter and painted with two-component paint we bought from the cabinet factory for a perfect match. The hideaway cabinet was customized with 270-degree hinges and an electrical outlet. They can hide some clutter items and opted to have the microwave inside.

The overhead hood was ducted to the exterior with a massive 10” duct through the garage. It produces amazing suction for the best ventilation to keep all of the gas and cooking fumes out of the house.

A beautiful subway tile was installed that adds to the character of this new cooking area. Appliances updated and all finishes now match. We changed the electric range to gas and the owner is very pleased with how well it cooks.

Lighting was solved by adding recessed lights throughout along with under cabinet lighting.

A Welcoming Dining Room

We opened up the kitchen by taking out the dividing wall between the kitchen and the formal dining room. We refinished the entire ground floor adding 600 sq ft of new hardwood to the existing floor. It came out flawless.

Lower cabinets were made for a beautifully painted sideboard to add tones more storage and charm to the room. The same granite countertop was continued from the kitchen.

Finally, we ran the house crown on top of the cabinets to tie it in. It makes the ceilings feel taller, more spacious, and cohesive with the whole house.
